Kyknos

The Greek word "Kyknos," meaning swan, serves as both inspiration and metaphor in this work, where the swans of Greece become a meditation on duality and harmony. Through the interplay of black and white swans, the piece explores the natural balance found in opposition—a visual dialogue between light and shadow, presence and absence.

The study of swans originated from my "Sauces in Bloom" project and studies the cultural significance of Kyknos Greek Canning Company. The swan, serving as both corporate emblem and cultural touchstone, bridges the industrial present with Greece's mythological past.
